Cliff Walk Commission

Social Impact Video

A Social Impact Video Honoring a Newport Landmark

As a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) at Salve Regina University, I had the opportunity to work on marketing projects that extended beyond the classroom. One of the most meaningful was our submission to the AMA International Collegiate Conference’s 2022 Social Impact Video Competition, a national challenge that asks students to highlight local causes and the work they support.

Our chapter chose to spotlight the Cliff Walk Commission in Newport, RI, which is the organization responsible for the preservation and stewardship of Newport’s historic Cliff Walk. This scenic, oceanfront path runs along the edge of Salve’s campus and has long been a treasured part of the university and community experience.

My Role in the Project

For this video, I contributed in several key ways:

  • Scriptwriting: I wrote the full script, weaving together history, local impact, and strategic relevance.

  • Media & Editing: I compiled imagery, edited clips, and produced the final video.

  • Voiceover: I recorded the voiceover narration used throughout the video.

We also integrated a social media strategy developed by a Marketing Strategies class at Salve, highlighting the role marketing plays in promoting important community causes.
